While you go to the lake, travel the world, and spend time outdoors this summer, don’t forget about your smile. Even though this season is busy for everyone, it’s important that you take the time to take great care of your smile. To help you do so, our team recommends doing the following things:
-Keep up on oral hygiene: Make sure to brush your teeth twice a day, floss your smile once a day, and rinse your mouth daily with mouthwash. For the best results possible, use a soft-bristled toothbrush, fluoride toothpaste, and antibacterial mouthwash. It’s also vital to attend your six month checkups so our dental team can clean the plaque and tartar from your chompers.
-Wear a mouthguard: If you are going to participate in high-contact sports or activities this summer, it’s best to protect your teeth and gums with a mouthguard. If you wear a mouthguard while you are active, the hard and forceful objects that hit your mouth will not harm your smile. To learn more about your mouthguard options, please talk to your dentist.
-Be smart while traveling: As you travel the world this summer, it’s best to pack your oral hygiene tools so you can keep your smile in tip-top shape. However, it might be easier to pack a travel-sized toothbrush, toothpaste, and mouthwash so you don’t run into any complications, especially if you’re traveling on a plane.
