At W Dental Group we are passionate about teaching our patients about the importance of good oral hygiene and overall dental health. This is especially true for our young patients. Every February, in honor of National Children’s Dental Health month, we make it a point to go out in the community and teach children about taking care of their teeth.
It’s also just as important to us that their parents know about taking care of their child’s teeth. Knowing the basics about brushing two minutes twice a day and going to the dentist twice a year are a great start. Teaching your child healthy habits is one of the best things you can do for them as a parent.
Once a year we open our doors to provide FREE dental care for the community. The next event will be held on Saturday, November 12th, 2016. As a growing number of Americans lack access to dental care, we feel this is a great way to address many health problems and give back to the community.
Dentistry From The Heart is a registered non-profit charity with the sole mission of spreading smiles. They do this by collaborating with dental offices like ours around the country to provide a FREE day of dentistry to those who do not have access to dental care. Patients are given their choice of a Dental Cleaning, 1 Filling or 1 Extraction.

National Ovarian Cancer Coalition
Breaking the Silence on Ovarian Cancer has a very personal meaning to us here at W Dental Group. We lost a very beloved member of our team, Audrey Keaton, to Ovarian Cancer. It is in her honor that we participate with and donate to the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition.
The San Antonio N.O.C.C. Chapter is comprised of ovarian cancer survivors, supporters, and health care professionals who are dedicated to raising awareness and promoting education about ovarian cancer. The Coalition is committed to improving the survival rate and quality of life for women with ovarian cancer . Click here for more information about the N.O.C.C.
Every September Dr. Tom Watkins goes on a mission trip to provide dental care for the people of Chichicastenango, Guatemala. This past September was Dr. Tom’s 11th time participating in the mission to Guatemala. Each mission is a new and rejuvenating experience; 0ne that the entire office hopes to one day be able to join him on in the future. Take a look at some pictures from the 2015 and past mission trips:
